When character development is embedded across the whole school, the results can be powerful and profound. Students flourish and wellbeing is bolstered.
A brand-new version of our character and wellbeing platform has been launched! Schools told us they needed support across all year groups, and we listened. By developing the knowledge and language around character strengths such as resilience, kindness, and creativity, as they move through school, the inspirational stories of game-changers who tackled adversity yet produced brilliance, can inspire and support EVERY STUDENT to be and achieve their best.
Amazing People Schools is a unique story-based learning platform designed for both primary and secondary schools. It explores the lives of some truly amazing people through the lens of character. Imagine your students building resilience with Harriet Tubman, firing their creativity with Einstein, or working on their adaptability skills with Wang Zhenyi! The development of key character strengths like these can greatly improve the odds that young people will thrive, regardless of the challenges.
Character strengths also play a vital role in student wellbeing, social emotional learning, and positive personal development. And they have never been more important. Amazing People Schools supports young people to harness these innate character strengths, believe in themselves, and flourish.
Our award-winning website and teacher-created resources bring to life the incredible stories of game changers from history – ordinary people who used their character strengths to help them achieve extraordinary things. Many of these people did not have it easy and frequently tackled adversity and challenge. The stories are based on decades of research by psychologist Dr Charles Margerison. He was fascinated not only by what these Amazing People did but, more importantly, HOW and WHY they did it. Discover the world, celebrate diversity, build cultural capital, and genuinely embed character in the fabric of your school to support your students through these tough times.
We all possess amazing potential. Strength of character will get you through most challenges in life; and these stories, told in the first person, explore not only what these Amazing People did but how and why they did it. They prompt self-reflection. They help students recognise their own strengths and understand what they are truly capable of – just like so many before them.
